The Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers [ABIR] is looking for a Summer intern to participate in meaningful academic and professional development in Bermuda’s international financial sector and gain exposure to local public policy. The program will provide a general understanding of the insurance market as well as ABIR’s vital role to the (re)insurance sector. The student, at the completion of the internship will be expected to have submitted a research report on a relevant, emerging, topic affecting the insurance industry with the guidance and support of the ABIR team.

The internship will consist of:

• 6-week, part-time (25 hours per week), paid position
• Education on Bermuda (re)insurance market
• Exposure to local policy initiatives
• Published research report

Requirements:

• Short Essay (500 words) on the impact of cyber risk to the (re)insurance industry
• Currently attending college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Bermudian and/or PRC Holder
• Interest in pursuing a career in the (re)insurance industry
• Strong research and analytical ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A high level of intellectual capability and curiosity
